Big Brother Naija season 6 and The Voice Nigeria season 3 were the major events this weekend.
It all started with the double launch weekend of Big Brother Naija on Saturday but let’s start with The grand finale of The Voice.
The show started out with 6 contestants who gave us 3 duets in total. Naomi Mac and Dapo from Team Falz, KPEE and Esther from Team Darey and then Kitay from team Yemi paired with Eazzie from team Waje.
After their performances, the host, Nancy Isime announced the top 4 which saw Naomi Mac from team Falz, both of Darey’s talents- KPEE and Esther and Eazzie from team Waje.
After another round of performances, it was time to announce the top 3 which featured both of Darey’s talents and to the surprise of many, Waje’s talent.
It was time for the 3 talents to give us their last performances and time to announce the winner of The Voice Nigeria, season 3.
From the votes counted and verified by KPMG, Nancy Isime, joined by representatives of the sponsors of the show and the red room host, Stephanie Coker, announced Esther from team Darey as the winner.
Congratulations Esther, we look forward to your first single after the show.
Now to the double launch weekend of Big Brother Naija Season 6 with the theme Shine ya eyes.
The first day saw 11 men enter the house. They had 24hours to savour the big brother house while the ladies joined in on Sunday. Ladipoe, a popular Nigerian musician also performed his hit single, feeling on the opening night.
Meet the Big Brother Naija Season 6 housemates:
The Guys are Boma, Saga, Yousef, Pere, WhiteMoney, Niyi, Yerins, JayPaul, Emmanuel, Sammie and Cross.
The ladies are Angel, Peace, Jackie B, Tega, Arin, Maria, Liquorose, Beatrice, Princess, Saskay and Nini
The show has now begun with Big Brother addressing the housemates, saying that there are 2 wild cats in the house. Housemates have been tasked to discover who these wild cats are. If they do, the wild cats will be evicted but, if they fail to figure them out, the wild cats get to stay and play for the money with some exclusive nomination rights.
Oh, lest we forget, the men decided to play a prank on the girls. Looks like some viewers did not quite like the prank but we must give it to the men for staying the full course.
