Kenyan’s Chef Maliha Mohammed Aims to Break Hilda Baci’s Cooking Record
Chef Maliha Mohammed, a talented Kenyan chef, has announced her plan to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon in August 2023. This won’t be her first attempt at such a feat, as she previously made a remarkable effort in 2019.
In her previous attempt, Maliha cooked non-stop for 75 hours, showcasing her culinary skills and determination to secure a place in culinary history. However, it remains unclear whether her achievement was officially recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records at that time.
Recently, Hilda Baci set a new record by cooking for over 100 hours on May 15th. For Chef Maliha Mohammed to claim the title, she will have to surpass Hilda Baci’s impressive record, pending official confirmation by the Guinness World Records team.
In her pursuit of this culinary milestone, Maliha applied for the Guinness World Record in December 2022 and received a positive response via email, giving her the go-ahead for her upcoming attempt. To prepare herself for the challenge, she plans to hold a trial cook-a-thon in her home, lasting 45 hours, which will serve as valuable practice for the main event.
In her quest to break the record, Chef Maliha has also reached out to the community for support. She has appealed for donations, both in cash and in kind, to assist her in her preparations leading up to the trial cook-a-thon scheduled for May 26, 2023.
Chef Maliha Mohammed’s determination and passion for cooking are commendable, as she pushes the boundaries and strives for culinary excellence.
