Guinness World Record Announcement: Hilda Baci Breaks Cooking Marathon Record

Finally, the highly anticipated announcement from Guinness World Records has arrived – Hilda Baci has officially been recognized as the individual who holds the longest cooking marathon record.

We are absolutely thrilled to share the exciting news of Hilda Baci’s official recognition as a Guinness World Record holder, marking a tremendous achievement for the Nigerian culinary world.

Guinness World Records has officially declared Hilda Baci as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with an impressive time of 93 hours and 11 minutes. This surpasses the previous record held by Chef Lata Tondon, who clocked in at 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds.

Hilda embarked on her remarkable journey by meticulously documenting a 100-hour footage, which was then thoroughly reviewed by Guinness World Records. However, due to a minor miscalculation in her rest time, 6 hours and 49 minutes were deducted from the total time. It was discovered that Hilda had unintentionally rested for an extra minute, leading to the deduction.

In order to claim the title of a world record breaker, Hilda had to adhere to strict rules, including simultaneously cooking two different meals. Additionally, she was required to submit the number, name, and weight of each cooked item as evidence.

The chef began her quest to break the world record on May 11 and concluded on May 15, 2023, at the picturesque Amore Gardens in Lekki, Lagos. Throughout the marathon, Hilda skillfully prepared a diverse range of local and international recipes, placing Nigeria on the global culinary map. The meals cooked by Hilda were generously donated to the Festus Fajemilo Foundation.

Hilda’s remarkable perseverance, dedication, and courage will forever be etched in history, serving as an inspiration to young Nigerians to pursue their passions with unwavering determination. Congratulations to Chef Hilda Baci, you are officially amazing!
