When you go on a trip, every second counts. It is important you create good memories. With Paris, I had less than 24hours but the places I visited made it seem like I had been there for about a week. The secret is in planning and now, I am about to let you in on how to maximize 24hours in Paris using my experience as a case in sight.
Days Before:
Before leaving for Paris, my partner had taken the time to do some extra research about the place. This helped us to determine where we needed to be at every point in time.
Arrival:
We arrived at about noon and headed straight to the hotel that we had booked. Paris is one of the most expensive cities in France and it shows in the cost of the hotels. What you need to do is try to get a booking done days ahead or even weeks if you can.
Mall:
Before coming, I really needed to find a black up store. Since the brand is said to be Black Up Paris, I figured that shopping the product there will be cheaper. The store we found seemed far from our location hence the decision to check at the mall close to Porte d’Italie, Italie Deux, which houses over 130 stores and restaurants. I found almost every brand and the products were also being retailed at very good prices. I did shop some toiletries but couldn’t find Black Up and a certain Tom Ford fragrance which I wanted. Not withstanding, if you are looking to shop within a short time, this is the mall you should be going to. You will have variety of choices to pick from.
Food
I do not do so well with trying out new dishes when I travel. I may try but it is always a struggle that leaves me craving Nigeria. Hence, you can imagine the joy in my heart when I was told I will be visiting an African restaurant. The meals are pricey- just as pricey as you would get a Chinese or Italian dish here in Nigeria if not more. However, it was worth every Euro. The name of the restaurant is African Kitchen and it is located at Rue Saint Maur.
Avenue des Champs-Élysées
While in Prague, I had visited a street with all the top luxury brands that you can think of. When I mentioned it to my partner, he decided I had to visit Avenue des Champs-Élysées. This is a long street with offices and stores of luxury brands. I bet that street has the most expensive items you can ever get in the whole of France. I could spot Bvlgari, Tiffany & Co, Guerlain, Disney- they were just so many. Even cars had their stores there but the most attractive of them all was Mercedes-Benz. I loved being in the showroom. The marketing strategy of that place was well thought out because you couldn’t leave that place and not see why you should consider owning a Mercedes-Benz. There was just so much to see, admire and shop what you can. They are pricey but they are worth every penny. When next I visit, I am going to stop by the street just to soak in all the breath of luxury that lives on that street and then, maybe I can save some Euro for my perfumes, watches and of course, my Zara items.
Eiffel Tower
This was the last stop for the night. We made it the last because the tower gets lighted at night and it looks really beautiful that way. It is a short ride from Avenue des Champs-Élysées and even as you begin to get around champ de Mars, you can see the tower from a distance. I had this shot I took from another street where I spotted the tower from. Should I find it, I will post under ‘From My Lens’. It is one of the most visited monuments in Paris which explains the crowd when we got there. To get into the compound is free but as soon as you wish to go into the tower itself, you need to pay. The highest level is more expensive than the first. Since I didn’t have so much time, I didn’t get to go all the way but I plan to when next I visit. As I was leaving, it was almost midnight. The last light for the night came up and this time, it is not just golden, it has a mix of white. I should upload the video on my Instagram page for you to see how amazing it is. If I choose, I can play the sound and you can literally hear my excitement.
Farewell
4 places in one day is a lot if you ask me and I am super excited to share this memory with you. Paris is a beautiful city and since we are in the love month, I thought it was the best time to share with you. Lots of engagements take place there, including weddings as we did see a couple with the bride in her white wedding gown. If I stayed one more night in Paris, imagine how much I would have seen. Next trip, I will be bringing you views from the Eiffel tower and then, there should be a few other exciting places I should visit. If you know of any, share them with me in the comment section below.
Now, this is how to maximize 24hours in Paris!!!!
