How To Protect Your Joy

There was a time in my life when I allowed people determine my state of mind. I was quite sensitive to people’s remarks and got angry at almost every little negative comment that someone made. I was so moody that if you gave me a positive compliment about my dress and just after you left, another condemned the dress, I would stick on the negative comment and allow that determine how I felt about myself in the dress. This was my story until I decided that no one was strong enough to steal my joy. Hence, the conscious effort to protect my joy.

A person’s action or comments should never tamper with your joy. You need to build your self-esteem t the point that you embrace peace. For me, I began to ignore offensive comments, refusing to be a victim of anger. I choose to see those who come to me with all that negativity as being ignorant. It wasn’t easy but seeing that it brought me peace of mind and kept my joy intact, I had to ignore every derogatory remark. It was in that moment that I realised that I did not have to respond to every negative comment for every action does not require a reaction.

As you read this, make an effort to let go of anger and protect your joy!
