At a breakfast meeting held at De Renaissance hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, Lenovo reaffirmed its commitment to the Nigerian smartphone market and its customers by introducing a mix of three new stylish and upgraded smartphones into the market. The world’s number three smartphone vendor entered the Nigerian market in February last year and the response has been overwhelming.
Speaking at the breakfast meeting, Shashank Sharma, Executive Director of Mobile Business Group at Lenovo, Middle East and Africa (MEA) described Nigeria as a vital focus for the organisation. “Nigeria is one of the fastest growing smartphone markets globally. With about 30 per cent smartphone penetration, the country represents huge growth potential for Lenovo……….We are building on the strong relationships that we have with Nigerians by meeting their demand for smartphones with first-class design, smarter features and improved functionality, with special focus on our latest range of mobile devices. Our continued organic growth and expansion puts us in a great position to maintain our momentum. We have tremendous balance between our core business, especially a profitable PC business, and growth engines like tablets, enterprise, ecosystem and smartphones. We expect to continue to build on these strong results.”
At the event, Lenovo revealed its new entrants into the market; the Lenovo P70 with an epic 4000mAh battery which the company says can last up to three days, the Lenovo S90, a perfect selfie companion with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and front LED flash and the ergonomically designed Lenovo S60 that showcases users’ fun and social sides.
We are yet to experience the devices but are particularly thrilled by the P70 which the Marketing Manager Smartphones, West Africa, Mr. Bolade Oyekanmi, says can be used to charge other smart phones. For us, this is a power bank in a phone. For more information on the devices, see www.lenovo.com
To add more spice to the event, the brand also rewarded 2 journalists with the S60 for punctuality and the S90 through a raffle draw. For more information on that, see mylekki.com
