My Samsung Galaxy S6edge

2015-04-30 13.40.57
Before the release of the Samsung S6edge, everyone was already talking about the design of the device and the assumed functions. It therefore penetrated the minds of Nigerians with ease as it finally unfolded a few weeks back (See Story here). I was fortunate to be in the room of about 50 people who got to welcome the curviest accessory in town and I got to take one home for a few days myself.

Packaging: The device comes in a white pack as seen below and contains a charger, USB cord, ear phones, the device itself and a pin for the SIM slot.

The internal memory space is  4 32/64/128 GB, 3 GB RAM but no card slot. The Camera has the following features; Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, Auto HDR, panorama 16 MP, 2988 x 5312 pixels, optical image stabilization, autofocus, . 2015-04-30 13.34.19The first thing that meets your eyes when it comes to any device is the design and Samsung left no stone unturned in bringing their innovative minds whilst creating the S6 edge. Coincidentally, the device launched with a pair called the Samsung Galaxy S6 duos which is rarely spoken about as the edge took all the attention away. It is curved on both sides, very light, a metallic body, sleek screen and gentle to the fingers. Very attractive and gets people looking your way.

The first few days that I went out with the device, I had people walk up to me and make positive comments on the device. In fact, some were ready to buy the device off me if I wasn’t interested in keeping it since I had the Samsung Galaxy A5. It was like getting dressed and just completing the look with the edge. 2015-04-30 13.37.56

For me and for many really, the next big thing about a device is the camera. The S6edge lens has the same feature of a DSLR which is why it is as sharp as it gets. From the post on ‘Oma in Khoosoraat’, you can see what the pictures look like even without adding any special effects though the camera has different shooting modes and comes with the beautification feature. The Primary camera is 13mp and the rear is 5mp

About the social apps, you get all that you need to connect with the world. It comes pre downloaded in a folder and all you need to do is install it.

The battery life is great with 4 hours of usage when you charge it for 10 minutes and then in 35 minutes, you get the device charged from 0-100%.

Generally speaking, I just love the way the device slides and glides on my fingers and makes it easy for me to want to show it off. However, the aesthetics also makes it feel like it could slip from your hands. So, I advise that you get a case that helps you grip the device better. Like a friend said, “Na Gbese phone” *lol*.

Do I need it? Yes I do because the camera is super awesome and its all I need to take all the pictures I need on my blog
Will I recommend it? 100%
Will I buy it? Hmmm…. Unfortunately, it is above my pay grade at the moment selling at 160-180,000 Naira. However, if I had the financial resources now, I won’t blink an eye lid in ordering one for me. So, yeah, I still have it on my list and maybe my mama may get lucky and I get her one *smiles*

What do y’all think?
