The Headies 2015 made some dramatic revelations with the announcement for the winner of The Next Rated award. The award which was given to Reekado Banks saw Lil kesh storming out of the venue and Olamide making a remark that got Don Jazzy responding. It was quite a fall out that continued on Twitter which you can see via @olamide_ybnl’s tweets which Linda Ikeji has even published.
The award comes with a car which is you have read the tweets, you can tell as Don Jazzy told Olamide to come for the car if he so desires. Not his exact words but a paraphrase. This got us curious and we put on our research cap on to find out all about this car that has caused some battle at The Headies 2015. Here is what we found that we think you should know.
The Hyundai ix35 has 6 models. Unfortunately, we are not quite sure which this is but, all models feature raised suspension, space for five, air-conditioning, alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights and a height adjustable driver’s seat.
The engine line-up comprises two CRDi diesels – 114bhp 1.7-litre and 134bhp 2.0-litre – plus a rather breathless 133bhp 1.6-litre petrol. This unit and the smaller diesel are front-wheel drive only, while the flagship 2.0-litre CRDi comes with the brand’s electronically controlled four-wheel drive transmission. All models get a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the 2.0-litre diesel can also be ordered with a six-speed automatic. In addition to these, Hyundai launched the ix35 FCEV hydrogen fuel cell vehicle in 2015, boasting zero tailpipe emissions and a 369 mile range.
We found the car on Cheki for about 3.2 million Naira though fairly used. On car sales, we saw a new 2015 model for about $39,990. Either ways, both bosses look like they can afford to get the car for their artistes. The question then becomes, was it really about the car?
