Key Features of Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+

Yesterday, I had to share my skincare time with Samsung Unpacked. There was no way I was going to miss out on the latest mobile technological creation that the world is yet to experience. I mean, I cannot possibly pass on getting the true tea as I know there has been quite some leaks from some tech kids but luckily, I didn’t get to stumble on any of their leaks *tongue out*. Hence, the need to tune in and catch every drop of tea on the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+.

Just to back up a bit, Unpacked is the biggest most anticipated Samsung event of the year. It is at this event that Samsung gets to officially reveal its latest flagship device (the S series) alongside other key devices designed to work with it and this year, it was all about the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+. Now that I have that out there, let’s get straight into the reveals from yesterday and what captured my mind.

Let me just say that the focus of this device is really on the camera as the brand did not really make so much adjustments in terms of the design. It looks a lot like the s8 but I guess when I get my hands on one, I can do some accurate comparisons and tell you for sure if there was really any difference. However, the device launches a new color addition which is the cutest coolest color that the brand has ever produced, lilac. I am guessing the ladies will be drawn to this as I am already. Besides, I have never owned a colored smartphone and this looks cooler than rose gold but that is not what makes the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ buzzworthy as you will get to read below.

The new smartphone which is set to be released officially in March is all about the camera which for me is everything. As I always say, the attraction to every smartphone that I own is the Camera quality- the more advanced it is, the more attracted I am to it. This was the case with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 which I am currently trying out on my trip. With what Samsung officials had to say and demonstrate yesterday, the camera may be like the s8 with MP of 12 and 8 for the back and the front respectively but, it is nothing close to it.

This camera is designed to do so much more than capture moments as it is expected to redefine the way we capture these moments. It automatically switches in various light conditions. What this means is, if the light is great, the aperture shifts to F2.4 mode and if the light gets low, the aperture shifts to F1.5 mode with ease. You do not have to do anything extra which is good for content creators who need to take images but are not professional photographers and may not be able to use pro settings.

Now that we know we can take excellent images, it is okay to assume that the video quality will be equally superb. However, Samsung thought to let us know that the slow-motion mode which I have come to love on my S8 is now super slow mo. With this, you get 20 shots per video with approximately 0.2 seconds of recording and 6 seconds of playback for each shot. I can’t wait to try out this feature especially now that I know I can have a video wall paper with the S9.

If you thought the cool was over, then you thought wrongly. With my S8, I had fun stickers to attach to my images after I capture them. With the S9, Samsung says we can create our own personalised images. This is called augmented reality emojis. I guess we should wait for the device to show you what they mean.

Find your place in a new non-English speaking city and need to translate, your camera can do the work for you. If only I had it with me on my trip now, I guess shopping alone will be a lot easier. Right now, I need my Czech and French speaking buddies to do the translations even before I place an order in a restaurant *smiles*.

There is more to look out for which you can experience HERE. I am simply looking forward to having a copy and I can reveal more. I guess it is okay for a girl to desire luxury especially as my birthday is 1month away *smiles*. How much will you be willing to spend on the S9?
