Hair Removal Techniques

Lately, I have been doing a lot of research on some hair removal techniques. Below is what I have discovered:

Waxing:

Waxing involves the removal of the entire hair follicle from the roots. As seen in the picture above the hair is pulled out totally, hence the extended wait time before anyone will need to have another session (Approx. 6 weeks). The two main types of wax are the cold and hard wax. The cold wax mostly comes in strip forms and with a little friction will be heated up and ready for use. The hard wax differs because it needs to be melted and then once it has dried after it’s applied then it can be pulled off the skin.

The benefits are:

  1. The hair removal is done quickly.
  2. It gives a clean and seamless result.
  3. Frequent waxing can cause the hair follicle to become damaged and seize hair growth. This can cause temporary results create permanent changes.

Some Disadvantages:

  1. Skin damage if not properly done.
  2. You will have to wait for a lot of hair to grow out before you can go in for another wax season.

Sugaring:

Unlike waxing, Sugaring is a treatment that used natural ingredients to remove hair. The main ingredients are sugar, lemon and hot water. It has been recommended for all skin types and just like waxing it has a higher chance of getting rid of the hair for a longer duration or even permanently. The diagram above shows the different between waxing and sugaring. Hopefully, this will help anyone trying to make a decision between both procedures.

Lasering:

Laser hair removal targets the hair shaft and stops hair growth, which essentially destroys the hair follicle therefore after a period of time, this will create a permanent result. Unlike waxing and sugaring the hair in the treated areas will fall out within 2 to 3 weeks. So far this seems to be the most expensive removal method but if you want something permanent, go for this method. It is best for people who have darker hair than their skin tone, and will not work for people who have lighter or pale hair colors than their skin tone. This method is also great for sensitive skin and may save anyone from the scars and burns caused by the wax and sugar method.

If you hate PAIN, stick to your shaving cream and your shaving sticks!!!!!!!!!!
