It has been over a decade since we saw Chris Rock take charge of the Oscars as a host. That was in 2005 when many of us were probably still in high school. Well, that memory is about to be relived and brightened as reports have confirmed that Chris Rock will be hosting the 2016 Oscars, scheduled to hold in the Valentine month, February 28th to be precise.
In a statement released to E! the Academy producers, David Hill and Reginald Hudlin, are quite excited about Chris hosting the show. They said, “”Chris Rock is truly the MVP of the entertainment industry………. He’s going to be a phenomenal Oscar host!” The president of the Academy, Cheryl Boone Isaacs added, “………He is certain to bring his amazing array of talents to this year’s show.”
Chris is equally as excited as he tweeted:

Now we know the host of the event, we look forward to the announcement of the nominees which is scheduled to be done at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills on Jan. 16, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. ET.
According to the reports on CNN, when Chris hosted the 77th Oscar awards in 2005, he didn’t change his confrontational comedic style for the show, poking fun at celebs like Jude Law. He received praises fro doing a good job at hosting the show but also got tongue lashed by those who couldn’t take his jokes.
So, Chris Rock could be dead in empire but we shall see him live again *lol*
