We hung out with Olorisupergal’s Tosin Ajibade and her team on Friday the 20th of July, 2018. This was at the launch of her new book titled, Olorisupergal: From Social Misfit to Social Media Hero.
Tosin Ajibade is the founder of entertainment and lifestyle page, Olorisupergal. She is the conveyer of the New Media Conference- an annual gathering of new media enthusiasts. The 5th edition which took place yesterday was quite an insightful one. We had some really engaging sessions that touched on finance, new media platforms, politics and music. It was during the conference that the convener launched her book.
The session was well attended by media and entertainment personalities. Media personality and travel consultant, Shade Ladipo moderated the session. She kicked things off with the book reading by a few people. They included the author’s sister, Bimbo Ajibade and popular Nigerian actress Lala Akindoju.
After the book reading, Shade had a mini interview with Tosin Ajibade where Tosin revealed the inspiration behind the book. She also spoke on her most challenging chapter- the first chapter. Here, she had to write about growing up. This is because she was a rather shy girl growing up and barely had friends.
What to expect from the book:
The book is expected to inspire all especially young ones who do not have an in-depth knowledge of what it takes to be a digital media entrepreneur. Contrary to the thoughts of some, it takes a lot of work and efforts to create contents and manage online platforms.
