Simple skin care routine for men and women

I have noticed that a lot of people do not understand the importance of having a proper skin care routine. In less than 20 or 30 minutes, you can do a simple skin care routine and yet get amazing results. This is applicable to both men and women as no one should desire having a 40year old look when you are 25.Today, I will emphasize on the morning skin care routine and as usual, I will be listing a few product recommendations:

Cleanseskin care routine

Cleansing is very important in getting rid of dead cells and pillow lint that the skin may have come in contact  with. For best results, it is advised that you cleanse twice a day with lukewarm water and spend at least 60 seconds going over you face to make sure you have cleansed every area.

Recommendations:
1. St Ives( Makeup remover and cleanser),
2. Fresh( Soy face Cleanser),
3. Origins ( Checks and Balances),
4. Marykay cleanser (based on skin type).
5. Dermalogical
6. Tea Tree
Note: Make sure the cleanser you are getting is either for “All skin types” or is compatible with your skin type (Oily, Combination or Dry).

Toneskin care routine

After cleansing, it is important to use a toner to remove extra dirt, which was missed by the cleanser. The Toner soothes, nourishes and hydrates the skin. It also balances the skin after cleansing and prepares the skin for the moisturizer.

Note: It’s important to use a gentle toner than one with harsh chemicals, because this may work against your skin. My recommendations are toners from the brands listed above and it is more beneficial when both the cleanser and toner are from the same brand.

Moisturizeskin care routine

NEVER skip the moisturizer! The skin needs to be replenished after it has lost some natural oils due to the cleansing and toning process. The choice of moisturizer should be impacted by the availability of natural ingredients with proven benefits such as shea butter, cocoa butter, Aloe Vera, jojoba, ginseng, seaweed, and pure essential oils. The use of active botanical extracts and oils has been shown to improve skin elasticity, texture, clarity, fine lines and wrinkles.

Extra steps (optional but highly recommended)

Eye cream

As we get older, it is important to invest in come good eye cream. The recommended age for people to start using eye creams is 19 years. According to Zeichner, the skin around your eyes is so thin, even a few minutes of sun exposure here and there can add up to wrinkles over time (Allure magazine). The Clinique Superdefense Age Defense Eye Cream SPF 20, is highly recommended by experts in skin care. :

Lip Balm and Scrub

It’s always good to exfoliate the lips while cleaning the face, as this will reduce dryness of the lips.

At this point, your face is perfectly ready for some makeup.

We would love to get feedback and questions!!
